Doing the job right means using the right type of fastener for the task at hand. The threaded shaft of screws provide a strong grip and makes for easy disassembly. Wood screws are ideal for wood-to-wood fastening, but for most outdoor woodworking you'll want corrosion-resistant decking screws. If your project needs a frame you'll want structural wood screws, framing screws or framing nails. Non-wood materials require their own specialty fasteners such as concrete screws, machine screws and sheet metal screws.
